Jillian SemaanJillian is the Director of Food and Environment at EARTHDAY.ORG where she focuses on addressing the impact animal and industrial agriculture have on the planet. She is an advocate for both human and planetary health focusing on solutions like plant-based diets, regenerative agriculture and sustainability. Previously she served as Chief of Staff of Civil Rights at the United States Department of Agriculture where she created and implemented government initiatives that focused on sustainable agriculture in food deserts, disadvantaged and low-income communities. In addition, she played an integral role in farmer discrimination settlements. She is passionate about raising awareness around how our food choices and food systems affect the planet and fights for a more just, equitable, healthy food system that works for everyone. She also serves on the board of Fairtrade America.
